Meet Anna and Vrat
We both grew up in Europe and eventually made Canada our home after spending years living, studying and working in different parts of the world. Travel has always been a big part of our lives, but over time we found ourselves looking for something quieter and more grounded.
When we arrived in Qualicum Beach, it immediately felt different. The pace was calmer. The surroundings felt intentional and unhurried. Not long after moving into this home, we welcomed our daughter, which made our connection to this place even stronger. Five Gables became more than a guest suite. It became part of the life we were building here.
Over the years, our travels have taken us across Canada from coast to coast to coast, from the Pacific to the Arctic and all the way to the Atlantic. Experiencing such a range of landscapes deepened our appreciation for the quiet beauty and space this country offers.
As frequent travellers ourselves, we know how much the small details matter. A comfortable bed. A peaceful setting. Clear communication. We genuinely enjoy welcoming guests, sharing local recommendations, and helping them make the most of their time on Vancouver Island.
Why We Created
Five Gables
When we began shaping Five Gables, we thought about the places that stayed with us long after we left. They were not the biggest or most elaborate stays. They were the quiet ones. The ones where you felt comfortable from the moment you arrived.
We wanted to create a space that reflects that feeling. A private retreat with natural light, simple design, and room to slow down. A place where evenings can be spent in the spa, mornings begin with coffee in the garden, and the pace feels unhurried.
Five Gables was designed to offer exactly that. Privacy, comfort, and calm in a setting that feels intentional rather than crowded.

We host only one guest suite. Your entrance, patio, and salt-water spa are exclusively yours, and the backyard remains your space to enjoy.

Set in the peaceful Eaglecrest neighbourhood, just 600 meters from the beach. A calm residential setting, a short drive to Qualicum Beach town centre.
Personally Maintained
We prepare and care for the suite ourselves to ensure consistent standards, thoughtful details, and clear communication throughout your stay.
